Learning A2 Flash is fast and easy

In this A2 Flash tutorial you learn:
- how to change the size of the Swf Display, images, the miniatures strip and text boxes.
- add mask to images and miniatures.
- change the graphics of navigation buttons.
- change the colour of texts.
- change the position of objects.

STEP 1
Launch A2 Flash ComposerS - double click "A2Flash_ComposerS.jar".
(From sw A2 Flash BuilderS, in "Template choice" > "Modify Template").
STEP 2
Select a template: “A2_Tutorial_1”.
STEP 3
Modify the “Swf Display” Size
- Insert the size in the field (1), Height = 320.
- Press key "Enter" to make the changes.
Modify the Padding Value
- Insert a value in the field (2), Padding = 0.
- Press the key "Enter" to make the changes.
STEP 4
Remove a Text Box
- Click the Text Box "Title" (1).
- In the window on the right (2), remove the check from the text box "Title".
STEP 5
Move and Modify the “Image Box” Size
Repositioning the “Image Box”
- Click the “Image Box” (1).
- With the mouse key depressed, click the “Image Box” to move it to a new position (see picture).
Change the Size of “Image Box”:
- Click the anchor point (2).
- With the mouse key depressed, click the “Image Box” to modify its size.

STEP 6
Change the “Miniatures Box”
- Click the “Miniatures Box” (3).
Change the length of the “Miniatures Box”
- Click the anchor point (3).
- With the mouse depressed, change the size.
Change the height of the “Miniatures Box”
In the window (1) on the right:
- Insert in the field, Height = 32.
- Press the key "Enter" to make the changes.
Change the space between the Miniatures
In the window (2), on the right:
- Insert in the field, Column = 2.
- Press the key "Enter" to make the changes.
STEP 7
Automatically Set the “Boxes” to the Same Width
First, select the “Box” to which the other “Boxes” will be sized.
- Click the “Image Box” (2).
- With the "Shift" key depressed:
- Click on the “Subtitle Box” (1).
Two boxes are now selected.
- Now click the horizontal width button (3).

The two “Boxes” now have the same width as the “Image Box” initially selected.
STEP 8
Change the Graphics of Buttons
- Click “Buttons Box” (1).
- In the window on the left (2), “Selects Buttons”. From one of the various drop-down menus, click the appropriate graphic.
Change the Size of the “Button Box”
- Click the anchor point (3).
- With mouse key depressed, change the size.
STEP 9
Automatic Alignment and Spacing of the “Boxes” objects
Automatic Vertical alignment of the “Boxes” objects
First, select the “Box” relative to which the other “Boxes” will be aligned.
- Click the “Image Box” (1).
With the "Shift" key depressed:
- Click the “Subtitle Box”.
- Click the “Miniature Box”.
- Click the “Buttons Box”.
Now all “Boxes” are selected.
- Click the vertical alignment button (2).
All “Boxes” are now automatically aligned vertically.
Spacing automatically between the “Boxes” objects
While all “Boxes” are still selected.
- Click the spacing button (3).
All “Boxes” are now automatically aligned and spaced.
STEP 10
Move and Modify the Size of the Text Box “Description"
Modify the Text Box "Description" in height and width:
- Click the Text Box "Description".
- Click the anchor point (1) to change the height and width of the box.
Centre the Text Box “Description" spaced on “Image Box”
- First, click the “Image Box” (2).
- With the “Shift" key depressed, click the Text Box “Description" (1).
Both boxes are now selected.
- Click the horizontal alignment button (3).
The two “Boxes” are now automatically aligned horizontally.
While all “Boxes” are still selected.
- Click the spacing button (4).
All “Boxes” are now automatically aligned and spaced.
STEP 11
Apply a Mask to Images and Miniatures
- Click the “Image Box” (1).
- In the window on the left (2) “Select Mask”, from one of the various drop-down menus, click the graphic required.
- The Mask is now applied to the image
With similar actions, click the Miniature Box and apply a mask to the miniatures.
Check the work with the button "Preview".
STEP 12
Remove the Image Advancement Buttons
- Click the “Image Box” (1).
- In the window on the right, remove the check from the box (2) "Prev/Next buttons".
STEP 13
Change the Characteristics of the Text Box "Subtitle"
- Click the Text Box "Subtitle" (1).
Change Text Alignment
- Check the box "Centred" (2).
Change Character Size
- From the drop-down menu (3), select the required size = 11.
Change Text Colour
- Click the button "Browse" in the box (4).
- In the dialogue window, select the colour (5) and press "Ok".
STEP 14
Change the Colour of the "Preload" Graphic
- Click the button (1) "Options".
- In the window on the right, in the box (2) "Selects Preload":
- Click the button "Browse".
- In the dialogue window, select the required colour (3) and press "Ok".
Note that by using these actions it is possible to change the colour of all or some of the preload graphics.
STEP 15
Preview and Creation of a new A2 Flash Template
To check the work
- Click the "Preview" button (1).
To create a new A2 Flash Template
- Click on the "Build" button (2).
- In the dialogue window, click a folder: e.g. “My_Templates” (3)
- Name the new A2 Flash Template (4).
- Save the new A2 Flash Template.
Now, in A2 Flash BuilderS, in the step “Template Choice” in the folder menu “My_Templates”, the new A2 Flash template is ready to use.

CREATE A FLASH PHOTO-GALLERY (.Swf File) WITH A NEW A2 Flash TEMPLATE

STEP 1
Launch Sw A2 Flash BuilderS
- Launch Sw A2 Flash BuilderS - click on: A2Flash_BuilderS.jar.
STEP 2
Select a New A2 Flash Template
- Click the button "Template Choice" (1).
- In the menu on the left, click “My_Templates” label (2).
- In the menu on the right, click "Select Template" (3) to select a new template created in A2 Flash ComposerS.
STEP 3
Create the Photo-Gallery template (.Swf File) from the new template
Optional: choose and add transitions, effects and more
- Click the label "Publish"
- In the new window, click the button "Publish" to create the required .Swf file of new Photo-Gallery to upload online with the “A2 Control Panel”

PUBLISH ON-LINE THE TEMPLATE (.Swf File) OF NEW FLASH PHOTO-GALLERY

STEP 1
Make the login to enter in A2 Flash Control Panel
- Launch the browser and connect to the link supplied during the installation: www.yourdomain.com/a2flash/admin/login.php and make the login
STEP 2
Make a new Category or select a Category
- ATTENTION:
- If you want replaced the already online Flash template (.Swf) of a category it's important that the size of sWf Display, miniatures and images in the new Flash Template (.Swf) to be the same ones as Flash Template (.Swf) you want replace.
STEP 3:
Upload the new Flash Template (.Swf) in the new Category or in the selected Category
- In the A2 Flash Control Panel, in the Category panel: upload the .sfw file
STEP 4:
Upload the images (.Jpg files) in the new Category
- From the A2 Flash Control Panel, in the “Add new photo” panel: upload the new images (.Jpg files)
Now your new Photo-Gallery is displayed OnLine!
